Brenda Wall
Brenda Wall spend over 25 years in the Corporate IT sector, initially in UK and then emigrating to South Africa. She was fortunate to work for Blue Chip corporates such as Mobil Oil, Anglo American and the Finance Sector, who invested in skills development in both Formal Management and Global Technology. In 1982, Brenda took the bold step to launch her own IT consultancy company which was based in Johannesburg, but served a National and International Client Base. The company had a small and smart team, all focused on AI (Artificial Intelligence) toolsets and Knowledge Management Systems. The company attracted the attention of the NASDAQ listed IT security company McAfee / Network Associates. The company was formerly bought out, and Brenda was appointed the Country and Sub-Saharan Manager for 2 further years. Brenda then joined Thawte, which had just been purchased by US based security company Verisign. She was initially appointed as Director of Customer Services but was promoted to Director of Operations SA for a 2 year period before permanently relocation to her new family home in Plettenberg Bay.
Once having relocated to Plettenberg Bay, Brenda realised that her children had left for boarding school and university and ‘retirement’ was not for her and she became involved in marketing the Polo and Kurland Hotel.
It was at this stage that Masizame Children’s Shelter became known to her, as they were nominated as a recipient charity for polo at Kurland Estate. Brenda has been involved with Masizame ever since. Firstly, as a member of the board and now as the manager/CEO of Masizame for over 12yrs.
